What do you do when your creativity just doesn’t flow? Yesterday, I had set aside time to scrapbook with one of my favorite people. We had a delicious dinner and then spread out all sorts of stamps, inks, papers and tools to share. I had a huge selection of stamps to play with but nothing seemed to inspire me. I sat looking at designs that I loved, but couldn’t quite put together the pieces for a card.
While my friend tried out a new embossing folder, I searched online for a card to scrap lift. I found dozens of terrific ideas, but nothing gave me that zing. My scrappy mojo was running on empty.
Let’s face it. We all lead busy lives. We have jobs, homes and family obligations. We get tired! So there I was, watching my friend whip out cute cards while nothing came together for me.
In the end I decided to just play. I pulled out a few of the stamp sets I was most drawn to, selected some inks and cardstock. Before long, I had a small collection of embellishments to make cards, page accents or tags. Best of all, the fun of it brought my mojo back!
Sometimes we just need to play with glitter and stickers and pretty paper! Share your tips for getting over scrappers block in the comments.
