Holidays from the Heart

Are you making handmade holiday cards and decor this year?  I’ve got my heart set on creating a set of paper trees like the ones pictured on the cover of the Close To My Heart Holiday Gift Guide.

holidays-from-the-heart-largeThe recipe (which can be downloaded at the above link) calls for a number of Cricut shapes including a variety of accordion folded circles (also known as yo-yos, medallions or rosettes).  I’ve got a great tip for creating these with ease!  When you are ready to adhere the accordion folded circle to the base, apply a generous amount of Liquid Glass.  Press the folds into the Liquid Glass and then place the piece inside a jar lid.  The rim of the lid should hold the folds in place until your glue has set.
