Got a scrap of Hello Lovely pattern paper? Grab your favorite die cut, some coordinating card stock, a beautiful piece of Blush Shimmer Ribbon and three Gold Glitter Gems to turn that scrap into a gorgeous feminine card! I love how quickly and easily this card came together. The secret was in combining the coordinating embellishments and sticking with the Hello Lovely color palette. Close To My Heart makes this super simple by offering collections and kits.

Have you ever been frustrated by a card project that just seems to be missing something? If you’re like me, sometimes you want to kick things up a notch without getting too fancy or spending a lot of time. Today’s card project is simple and elegant but includes a couple of extra touches to make sure it will still wow the recipient.
I’ve used the Good Thymes stamp set to create a quick card with clean lines. What takes this card to the next level? Dimension!
Adding dimension is one of my favorite ways to punch up a simple card. Here I’ve used the Vine Embossing Folder on one of my background layers. This subtle pattern totally changes the feel of the card. Next, I used Willow ink and our Sponge Dauber to add a soft accent to the edges of the lighter card stock. I adhered the center panel with 3D Foam Tape to give my stamped image emphasis.
These quick and easy tricks can be added to all sorts of cards and scrapbook pages to add that special something that takes your project to a whole new creative level. Do you have a tip to add impressive elements to your cards? Please share it in the comments.
Do you struggle with sentiments for the interior of your cards? I just got the happy news that one of my high school friends became a father today. I feel really special to receive one of baby’s first photos straight from the delivery room. So this weekend, I’ll be crafting a card to congratulate the parents on their bundle of joy.
I’m told the Italians have a beautiful saying to welcome a new addition to the family. “Welcome to the light.” Blog readers, I’d love to hear from you. What do you think of using this phrase as a sentiment inside a baby card?
Here’s a quick tip that will help you clean up after your next crafting session. If you have ink smudges and stains on your fingers, a quick wash with warm, soapy water is usually all you need to come clean. When soap is not enough, give your favorite hairspray a try! Apply a small amount directly to the skin, wait about 30 seconds for the ink to start dissolving and wash as you usually would. No more inky fingers.
Got a quick, practical tip for me? Please share it in the comments.
Can you guess what I love most about being a Close To My Heart Consultant?
I remember the first time I saw the stamps. The company was still under the names DOTS (Dozens of Terrific Stamps)! The consultant set up a basic technique demo and I was hooked. When the clear, My Acrylix, stamps came out I was so impressed with the results. I loved being able to see exactly where I should place my images. I was starting to grow my collection and clear stamps were easier to store too. When the first Cricut Collection was released with matching My Acrylix stamp sets, I knew I had to become a Consultant, but it’s still not my very favorite thing about being with CTMH.
Ok, some of you know me well enough to know that I am pretty impatient when it comes to new stamps so it’s a good guess. You know how hard it is to wait for the debut of our Idea Book and Seasonal Expressions! The Consultant preview period makes me a happy camper; I just love ordering my new goodies a month before they are available to the public.
Owning My Own Business
This is a pretty powerful motivator! Turning my paper crafting talent into profit means I have the income to make different decisions with my budget. Not only am I able to purchase items for my own use at a discount, but I am able to set my own work schedule to meet my income goals. What would building a home based business make possible for you?
My favorite part of being a Close To My Heart Consultant is truly the connections I’ve made with wonderful ladies, both consultants and customers, who love paper crafts and stamping. I met my best friend through CTMH! When I was a new consultant, my upline suggested I connect with other consultants in my city. The first person I met was Joann. She’s one of the kindest people I’ve ever known and I am so glad to have her in my life. We schedule time to craft together at least two weekends a month. She’s a very talented card maker! The picture above represents a dream come true for us. Over the summer of 2016, Close To My Heart held the annual convention at Walt Disney World. We were so excited to attend Convention together. We saw new products, explored the resort, and created scrapbook pages and cards. Best of all, we met ladies who share our love of CTMH.

I couldn’t get enough of Amelia Bedelia or Madeline. Post in the comments and let me know your favorites.

Blame Facebook. A friend of mine has been posting links to a calendar site and I’ve been loving the observances. National Tell A Fairy Tale Day has got to be my favorite so far.
A touch of whimsy, pixie dust and a magic wand…I love fairy tales. Just please don’t make me kiss a frog! Growing up here in Florida, I’ve always known the Disney version of the classic fairy stories. I’ve got a true passion for Disney and have been an annual passholder for over 15 years.
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party – Magic Kingdom
Cinderella has been my favorite fairy tale since I was a little girl. Every year I attend a Disney Halloween in costume. Many times I’ve gone as Cinderella although I have never been brave enough to wear glass slippers in the Magic Kingdom.
I think I’ve found the perfect stamp set for the fairy princess in your life! Spread some pixie dust with a card or create a magical scrapbook page with Birthday Princess. I love that this set includes the frog!
Post in the comments and let me know your favorite fairy tale!
